B.Tech. in Information Technology

B.Tech. in IT program offers students with expertise in computer hardware, algorithm design, programming languages, software development, information theory, and agile engineering. Students gain a strong technical foundation, practical problem-solving skills, and hands-on experience, preparing them to build, optimise, and manage technology solutions across diverse IT Environments.

Program Outcomes

  • Graduates will understand the potential synergies between big data analytics and blockchain technology and be able to integrate these technologies to address real-world challenges, such as data privacy, data provenance, and data sharing.

  • Students will possess strong analytical and statistical skills for analyzing and interpreting big data. They should be able to apply advanced analytics techniques, such as machine learning, data mining, and predictive modelling, to extract insights and patterns from data. 

  • Students will understand the fundamental concepts and principles of blockchain technology, including decentralised ledgers, cryptographic hashing, consensus mechanisms, smart contracts, and decentralised applications (DApps).

Program Scope

  • Graduates can work in big data analytics, leveraging large datasets to extract valuable insights and trends. 

  • Opportunities in industries such as finance, e-commerce and technology for managing and analysing massive volumes of data. 

  • The specialisation prepares students for blockchain technology, offering skills in decentralised systems, smart contracts and cryptocurrency applications.

Program Eligibility

Passed 10+2 examination with Physics/ Mathematics/ Chemistry/ Computer Science/ Electronics/ Information Technology/ Biology/ Informatics Practices/ Biotechnology/ Technical Vocational subject/ Agriculture/ Engineering Graphics/ Business Studies/ Entrepreneurship as per table1.3(a) Agriculture stream (for Agriculture Engineering) Obtained at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in the above subjects taken together (Physics & Maths compulsory for B.Tech AIML/CSE/CS/IT/DS/DE and Physics, Chemistry and Maths for B.Tech. Civil). OR Passed D.Voc. Stream in the same or allied sector.
