B.Tech. in Data Science

This program prepares students to address challenges and opportunities in big data, Data Science blends statistics, programming, machine learning, and domain knowledge to uncover insights from complex datasets. Students learn to analyse, interpret, and visualise information, enabling smarter decisions and innovative solutions across industries increasingly driven by data.

Program Outcomes

  • Graduates will be able to collect, clean, preprocess, and store various types of data from different sources, including structured and unstructured data.

  • Students will possess a strong foundation in statistical methods and techniques, including descriptive statistics, inferential statistics, regression analysis, hypothesis testing, and probability theory. They will be able to apply statistical models to analyze and interpret data effectively.

  • Graduates will have domain-specific knowledge in areas such as business, healthcare, finance, marketing, or social sciences, enabling them to apply data analytics techniques to real-world problems in diverse sectors.

Program Scope

  • Graduates can pursue careers as data analysts, leveraging statistical methods and data visualization tools for informed decision-making. 

  • Opportunities in industries such as finance, marketing and healthcare for analysing and interpreting complex data sets. 

  • The specialisation prepares students for roles in big data analytics, predictive modelling and business intelligence.

Program Eligibility

Passed 10+2 examination with Physics/ Mathematics/ Chemistry/ Computer Science/ Electronics/ Information Technology/ Biology/ Informatics Practices/ Biotechnology/ Technical Vocational subject/ Agriculture/ Engineering Graphics/ Business Studies/ Entrepreneurship as per table1.3(a) Agriculture stream (for Agriculture Engineering) Obtained at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in the above subjects taken together (Physics & Maths compulsory for B.Tech AIML/CSE/CS/IT/DS/DE and Physics, Chemistry and Maths for B.Tech. Civil). OR Passed D.Voc. Stream in the same or allied sector.
